Sustainability

There are four main aspects to take into consideration regarding the sustainability of The Twist; a sustainable supply chain, material choice, transportation and recyclability.

The Twist’s supply chain should be as circular as possible; reducing waste and reusing as much material as possible. When making a supply chain sustainable, the ‘Triple bottom line’ should also be considered.

The material chosen for The Twist is thermoplastics. This material is easy and efficient in manufacturing by injection moulding and thus results in minimal waste.

As for transportation, The Twist is going to be made in Germany, to minimize transport distances and thus CO2 emissions. The Twist is going to be made of thermoplastics, meaning that it can be recycled. This can be done by placing containers in stores where The Twist is sold. People can bring back their old Emsa bottles here.
